Writing advice from Christopher Hitchens

by

Christopher Hitchens was a profound intellectual. From his hard-hitting barbs and astonishingly clear-cut articulations, Hitchens was a master of words. In that spirit, check out this sharp video of Hitchens doling out witticisms and priceless writing craft advice.

Hitchens laid out the method for writing well, and it started with the voice: “The idea is to find a voice. I try and write as if I was speaking to people.” Besides this gem, keep watching for more tips, including on how much alcohol to imbibe while writing.
