Trump has dramatically lost favor in the wake of his mishandling COVID-19 testing and Black Lives Matter protests, but now even his family is intent on lifting the veil and showing his true nature before the next Presidential election. Mary Trump, clinical psychologist and the President’s niece, has written the book Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man, and it is scheduled to be released July 28. 

Publisher Simon & Schuster describes the book:

[A] revelatory, authoritative portrait of Donald J. Trump and the toxic family that made him … She describes a nightmare of traumas, destructive relationships, and a tragic combination of neglect and abuse. She explains how specific events and general family patterns created the damaged man who currently occupies the Oval Office, including the strange and harmful relationship between Fred Trump and his two oldest sons, Fred Jr. and Donald.

Trump’s family went to court to block the publication of Mary Trump’s book, claiming that his niece signed a non-disclosure agreement in a previous legal dispute over her grandfather’s estate in 2000, according to Geoff Bennett and Dareh Gregorian at USA Today. The non-disclosure agreement would prohibit any public statements on Trump from the niece.

Mary Trump’s lawyer Ted Boutros has stated that the book is “of utmost political importance” and its termination would be a “brazen violation of the First Amendment” in a statement on Tuesday, according to Nick Visser at the HuffPost. And Simon & Schuster, who fought a previous attempt to block the publication of John Bolton’s novel, has stated that they are confident that this attempt will meet the same fate.
