It was windswept and wet at The Brooklyn Book Festival, but that didn’t stop the crowds from showing up en masse. People huddled beneath the tents, wiped water from the covers of their newly bought books, and chatted merrily about writers and writing. On my walk home through downtown Brooklyn, I snapped a picture of this menacing yet idealistic graffiti looming over an abandoned lot. Seems like good advice.
