Pippa Middleton kind of writes a second book
by Taylor Sperry
Pippa Middleton would like to correct the record.
“People see me as someone privileged who has used my position to advantage; that I don’t really work,” she told the Daily Mail’s Andrew Pierce and Richard Key. “That I’m a party girl without any substance.”
You can see where they might get that idea.
After Pippa’s first book, Celebrate (a party planning book), flopped spectacularly, her second effort, a cookbook called Heartfelt, turns out to be, well… only partially her own.
“I would like to say I have made every single [recipe], but I have definitely done a good 80 per cent of them. I made a lot of the dishes at home.”
Whence the other twenty percent? The more than 100 recipes in the book are the product of her collaboration with “a team of experts… starting with the Waitrose Weekend Food Editors,” and vetted by dietitians at the British Heart Foundation. So, what they might lack in that Pippa Middleton je ne sais quois, they at least make up for in heart-healthiness.
Taylor Sperry is a former Melville House editor.
