John Updike’s writing advice is something all writers should try

John Updike’s advice to young writers might seem blindingly obvious, but it’s very solid and practical. In this nearly two-minute video the author highlighted lots of insightful nuggets of getting started and on writing itself, but the best stand out tidbit was all about time and routine.

Updike’s biggest piece of wisdom? Making time. He simply stated: “Try to develop actual work habits… try to reserve an hour a day or more to write.” There’s more, but we’ll let you watch the video to get all of the hot tips for writing.
