Indie publishers in the UK share some mutual appreciation on Twitter
by Michael Barron
One great thing about being an indie press is that you get to hunt out great books. Less great is that it can sometimes feel like you’re on your own promoting those books. Competition can be stiff, and those great titles can all too easily get lost in the shuffle.
As we reported a few weeks ago, indie booksellers in the UK are banding together to make sure they get their share of attention from publishers. On the publishers’ side, last year the Guardian’s Eloise Miller interviewed directors from twelve indies and asked them all to include an indie title they wished they had published.
Two months later on Twitter, Influx Press is carrying the idea a little futher:
Ok independent press thread for readers, from publishers…
Post a book cover that you wish you had published because it’s amazing. Then nominate 4 other presses to do the same.
