David Rees talks artisanal everything at the Brooklyn Book Festival

At 11 A.M. join David Rees, world expert on the inferiority of your pencils and author of How to Sharpen Pencils as he’s interviewed by Sam Anderson, critic at large for the New York Times Magazine. The pair will discuss the artisanal culture of the Hudson Valley, Rees’ pencil business (he hand-sharpens pencils for mail order customers), and the artisanalization of everything in Brooklyn, from mayonnaise to soda.

They’ll be speaking at the Main Stage as part of the Brooklyn Book Festival. And don’t forget to stop by our booth at the festival where we’ll be offering great deals on books—like How to Sharpen Pencils—of the utmost seriousness and urgency.
