Thanks to the success of Andrew Jarecki’s HBO documentary series about Robert Durst, The Jinx, interest in Durst and his role in the deaths and disappearances of several women has exploded recently. The renewed spotlight even contributed to his arrest last month for the first-degree murder of Susan Berman.

Given the national discussion swirling around Durst, it’s not surprising that Berkley Books is reissuing a book about him, A Deadly Secret: The Bizarre and Chilling Story of Robert Durst by Matt Birkbeck. Carolyn Kellogg reports for the Los Angeles Times that an updated edition—already available as an ebook—will be published in paperback this month.

Kellogg writes about the book:

Originally published in 2002, “A Deadly Secret” focuses on the 1982 disappearance of Durst’s wife Kathie and the re-opening of the case by New York investigators 18 years later. Birkbeck , who covered the story for People Magazine, had access to Durst’s New York Police Department files.

This isn’t the first time A Deadly Secret has been updated: Birkbeck added new chapters for a version published in 2012. The 2015 edition will add an update from the author that discusses recent developments in Durst’s case with regard to the HBO documentary and his arrest.

The new paperback will publish on April 14, 2015.
