Becoming II: Still Becoming
by Ryan Harrington
What do you do after writing the bestselling memoir of all time, a book that sent you on a totally unprecedented stadium tour of book events and still sits comfortably on the bestseller list nearly a year after its publication (having moved about 11.5 million units)?
You try to do it again … and really stick to the formula.
That’s just what will happen this November when Michelle Obama will follow up her smash hit Becoming with the familiarly titled Becoming: A Guided Journal for Discovering Your Voice. The book, which will publish on November 19 from Clarkson Potter, was announced Monday.
This second volume flips its focus, from Obama to her readers. In fact, it is less a book than a workbook.
As Lolly Bowean writes for the Chicago Tribune: “The book will feature an introduction written by Obama along with more than 150 questions and quotes that aim to compel readers to fill in answers about themselves.”
You, then, may be the one doing the heavy lifting in writing the second bestselling memoir of all time.
