Beam me up, Ahab

by

A bionic whale. Obviously.

It’s kind of amazing that this hasn’t been done before: a sci fi adaptation of Moby Dick is in the works, under the title Mobius. It’s described as a ‘psychological action thriller’, set in deep space. Yep, you guessed it: a captain bent on revenge will take his crew on a death mission through outer space to find an elusive alien. We at MobyLives will be hoping for a faithful rendering, complete with an extensive cataloguing of aliens.

The film will be directed by Lynne Ramsay — director of We Need to Talk About Kevin — and she’ll be teaming up with her Kevin co-writer, Rory Kinnear.
