Join publisher of Harper’s Magazine John R. MacArthur and journalist Tom Frank at the New York Society for Ethical
In his new book,¬†THE OUTRAGEOUS BARRIERS TO DEMOCRACY IN AMERICA, MacArthur argues that the American political system is rigged to keep the ‚Äúmock‚ÄĚ in ‚Äúdemocracy,‚ÄĚ explaining how this came to be, and what it means for the future of our country. Featuring case studies of candidates from Ned Lamont to Ralph Nader and taking a close look at the Chicago politics that spawned Barack Obama, MacArthur spares neither side of the political spectrum in a devastating expos√© of the entrenched elites.
