Come celebrate the holidays with a trio Brooklyn indie publishers and some of the hottest authors in the indie scene.
Akashic Books and its Hotel St. George imprint, as well as Melville House and Archipelago Books, present an evening with Percival Everett, Arthur Nersesian, Ben Greenman, and Ross Benjamin, reading from and discussing their recent and forthcoming books.
Percival Everett is the acclaimed author of 15 novels including Erasure and Glyph, and the new poetry collection Abstraktion und Einfuhlung.
Arthur Nersesian is the author of the bestselling novel The Fuck Up and, just out from Akashic, The Sacrificial Circumcision of the Bronx, the newest in his Five Books of Moses series of novels.
Ben Greenman's story collection Super Bad was published by MacSweeney's. His new (first) novel, Please Step Back, will be published by Melville House in May 2009.
Ross Benjamin is a translator who has translated, most recently, Hyperion by Friedrich Hölderlin for Archipelago, and Kevin Vennemann's Close to Jedenew for Melville House.
